Those Cold Mornings

A hot breakfast really hits the spot during those cold mornings. Better still if you have someone making one for you. We love our new frying pans- one of the wedding gifts from Karen's parents.

I'm eagerly waiting for the next hot breakfast, Chad!

A new Blogger!

What you see here is why I have finally started a blog. It has been snowing here in Seattle and the roads are icy. It's really colder outside than I would like to bear. Since I cannot go out to do my necessary Christmas shopping, I've amused myself by trying to figure out what this BLOGGING thing is all about.

This is the view from our condo. It sure looks pretty but I hate being in it. I really need to get real winter clothes!

The Honeymoon Part One

Disneyland and California Adventure was the perfect place for Chad and I to have our honeymoon. Part Two is going to be somewhere in Asia, somewhere in April 2009.

Going arond and around in the Mad Hatters teacups was kettles of fun. We were spinning really fast.

Chad had hungry company at the Tarzan's tree house.

The roller coaster at California Adventure was one of our favourites, apart from Space Mountain. Chad and I are thrill-seekers.

We got wet in this ride!

The 8th dwarf? OK, maybe not.

And as all stories go...we live happilly ever after!

Don't Mess with Karen

This is to remind Chad of Karen's father's advice in his wedding toast!

Our Wedding Part One

THE COUPLE

At 38 and 40, we were hardly the young blushing bride and dapper groom. That said, I think we looked so happy and so perfect for each other. We were married in at the Lake Union Cafe in Seattle on November 8th 2008. Part two of our wedding will be our Catholic wedding at the church of St. Francis Xavier in Singapore on April 18th 2009.

THE CEREMONY

The Emotions

The presentation of the roses was one of the most important and special parts of the ceremony. My Matron of Honour, Rhonda, was close to tears as was I. I will always remember my mom's face during that part of the ceremony.

The Best Man

Here's David just before he presents the rings.

We're M.A.R.R.I.E.D and H.A.P.P.Y.
No, it's not an oxymoron. Can't you just see the joy in our faces?

OUR FIRST DANCE

It Might Be You ~Stephen Bishop

Time... I've been passing time watching trains go by
All of my life...
Lying on the sand, watching seabirds fly
Wishing there would be
Someone waiting home for me...

Something's telling me it might be you
It's telling me it might be you...
All of my life...

Chad and his mom danced to one of my favourites "Through the years" by Kenny Rogers.

Remember this Irish proverb:
"A man loves his sweetheart the most, his wife the best, but his mother the longest."

MEET THE FAMILY

(left to right)
Evan (Mark and Rhonda's son), Mark (Chad's brother), Rhonda (Chad's sis-in-law and my MOH), Scott (Chad's brother), Albert (my dad), Aunt Diane (Chad's aunt), Philomenna (my mom), Uncle Bill (Aunt Diane's husband), Auntie Maeve (Chad's mom), Karen, Chad, Aunt Cathy (Chad's aunt), Cameron (Chad's cousin), Linda (Chad's sister)

Mother of the Groom

Chad's mom looks so filled with delight just as she has walked up the aisle after the ceremony.

Mother of the Bride

My mom was fussing over me the whole day, making sure I did not trip on the train of the dress and that my veil was on just right.

Father of the Bride

My dad and I danced to the duet by Nat and his daughter, Natalie Cole-"Unforgetable".

MOMENTS TO TREASURE

Interrupting the ceremony with an "Excuse me, may I add something..."

Dancing with my mother-in-law and Susanne.

Chad and I should have taken a few lessons from Aunt Diane and Uncle Bill.

Chad's friends who were such good sports and so much fun.

Chad 'serenading' me with the Doobie Brothers' "Need a taste of your love".
